Rain Bird began in Glendora in 1933 with a horizontal-action impact sprinkler designed for citrus groves — a device simple enough that its basic principle is still in the ground across millions of acres.
What they make
Rotors, sprays, drip and micro-irrigation, valves, controllers and central control systems, sold into agriculture, golf, commercial landscape and residential.
The California angle
The company has leaned hard into conservation messaging under the banner of using water responsibly, and in a drought state that has moved from marketing position to procurement requirement. On a landscape architecture floor the questions are about distribution uniformity, pressure regulation and how a system documents its savings for a water district rebate.
