Why rooftops changed the category
As cities pushed development upward and stormwater rules tightened, roof decks stopped being a luxury and became a way to make a building work. Pedestal systems are what make those surfaces level, drainable and — crucially — removable when the membrane below eventually needs attention.
What specifiers ask
Load ratings, wind uplift, height adjustability, and whether the system can be lifted and reinstated without destroying it. The last question is the one that wins the specification.
